1. Remove the Sliding Door

The first thing that you must do before replacing the rollers is to remove the sliding door from the frame. This might be the hardest step as sliding doors are normally big and heavy.

To help you out, don’t forget to prepare a flat-head screwdriver, and some foam sheets to protect the door. Then carefully lift the rollers of the bottom track and the screws on the top part of the door.

2. Loosen the Screw

Once you have removed the door, put it safely on top of a table or workbench. Then, loosen the screws that hold the rollers in place. Normally the screws are located on the bottom part of the door.

Using a screwdriver, turn the screw in counterclockwise to release the screws. After they all loosen up, remove the rollers, and keep the screws in a safe place to be used for your new rollers.

3. Determine the Type of Roller

Before installing the new roller, make sure that you have the right type of roller for your door. People must know that each sliding door has different kinds of roller. Therefore, to make sure you buy the right one, bring the old roller with you.

4. Install the New Rollers

Once you are sure that your roller is the right one, then install them on your door. First, line up the holes in the rollers and the bottom of the doors.

When they are in line, put the screws in and turn them clockwise to tighten them together. Put all the screws in so they fit in perfectly.

5. Spin the Rollers

Before putting the door back on, try to spin the rollers on the door first. Make sure they can spin perfectly without any problems. If the rollers can’t spin well, then it is best to reinstall them again and make sure their position is right.

6. Clean the Tracks
