Industrial Sliding Door Hardware

Nowadays, sliding doors have gained popularity due to their non-interfering outward space advantage. Hence, places like houses, warehouses, and even public spaces use it. Some even install industrial sliding door hardware because of its ability to fit heavy-duty doors.

Amongst other types of sliding doors, the industrial ones are capable of a mere 100 kg to 2000 kg. This range of weight would be based on the doors’ material and their size. Thus, before getting one for yours, make sure to measure what you need first.

Why Choose Industrial Sliding Doors with a Track System?

For sure, a sliding door is more space-saving than a hinged door. But, among the types of sliding doors out there, the track system is still a better choice. Because the track system sliding doors do not require any extra space like folding or stacking

In general, a sliding door with a track system is popular because it is simple and does not require the preparation of the necessary external space. Therefore, public places – especially shopping malls and hospitals, and other places with high traffic, often use this sliding door system.

Additionally, tracking system sliding doors often use a sensor-based automatic opening and closing system. You will find this kind of system in public places – like the mall and hospital that we mentioned. Thus, the door will automatically open and close without having to man it.

Farther, the sliding door also has more material choices than hinged doors. From lightweight materials for small storage to extremely heavy materials for industrial use. Therefore, the demand for industrial sliding door hardware is increasing.

Necessary Industrial Sliding Door Hardware with Track System

So, what is special about the industrial sliding door compared to the non-industrial sliding door with a track system? The answer would be in the installed hardware. Here is the hardware of a sliding door with a track system:

  • The top rail acts as the sliding mechanism for the sliding door, which is placed at the top of the door frame.
  • The support brackets are to the sliding track to the wall, soffit, or any other top frame.
  • Hangers/trolleys/runners/wheels are placed at the inside of the top track to make the doors slide.
  • Door brackets connect the door panel with the hanger, thus placed at the top side of the door panel.
  • The track end stops on the end side of the top track rail. This hardware will stop hangers from sliding off the top rail.
  • The floor guide track is placed at the bottom side of the door frame, which is the floor. The function is to stop the door panels from swinging.
  • Floor guide at the bottom side of the sliding door assembly at the inside of the guide track.

More or less both have the same hardware, but the capacity would be different. For once, the industrial sliding door hardware would have more capacity for heavier door panels to install. Thus, you do not have to worry about what kind of material you have to use.

You can start by choosing what kind of material for the door panels that you are going to use. Then, all you have to do is only choose the right hardware to use on the door that you desire.
